
With a booking system like RentAccent, the financial handling surrounding bookings is also highly important. With the latest features in RentAccent, managing security deposits has become much easier — both collecting and refunding them. In addition, there is now a clear overview of all payment transactions associated with each booking.
As a rental business, you want to protect yourself against potential damage by charging a security deposit. From now on, you can configure RentAccent to automatically add a deposit to every booking. This amount appears as a mandatory extra in the final step of the booking process. The customer clearly sees the deposit amount in the overview before completing the payment. The deposit is therefore included directly in the total price, ensuring there are no surprises.
How to configure this:
Log in to the RentAccent Booking Manager and go to 'Booking Module > Security Deposit'. There you can enter the desired amount in euros. Once saved, the setting will apply to all future bookings.
Has the rental period ended and do you want to return the deposit? This process is now automated as well. If the customer paid online, you can refund the deposit directly through a button in the system. The refund will automatically be processed using the same payment method the customer originally used.
How does it work?
Go to 'Reservations' and open the relevant booking. At the bottom of the price overview you will see the deposit amount listed, with the button 'Refund deposit' below it. One click is enough — the system takes care of the rest. The refund may take several days to appear, depending on the payment provider. Please note: this button is only available if the payment has actually been completed.
A frequently requested addition: a complete overview of all transactions related to a booking. This includes successful payments, but also failed attempts or interrupted payment processes. This overview is now available. You can immediately see whether a customer has paid successfully or if further action is required.
How does it work?
Open a booking under 'Reservations' and click the white button at the top labeled 'View payment(s) in Stripe'. Here you will see all transaction details associated with that specific booking.
