How to manage item availability on specific days in RentAccent

Some rental concepts do not operate on continuous availability, but instead follow a fixed weekly or monthly structure. Think of items that can only be booked on Fridays and Saturdays, or rentals that are standardly closed on Mondays. Thanks to the flexible settings in the RentAccent booking system, you can now configure this easily, without having to manually block each individual day.

Set specific closing days using ‘Blocked periods’

With the new workflow, you define a period once— for example from January 1 to December 31— and then select which days of the week should be closed within that period.

Here’s how to set it up:

• Go to the desired bookable item in the Booking Manager.
• Navigate to the ‘Blocked periods’ tab.
• Click ‘Block period’ and choose a ‘from’ and ‘to’ date.
• Select the days on which the item should be unavailable (for example, every Monday and Tuesday).
• Save and… done!

From that moment on, the booking system will automatically ensure that the selected days within that period cannot be booked.
 

Practical use cases

This feature is especially useful for:

1. Seasonal rentals with fixed closing days, such as boat rentals that are only open from Wednesday through Sunday.
2. Weekly rentals with fixed changeover days, such as a holiday home that can only start on Fridays.
3. Businesses with regular operating or maintenance days, such as bike rentals that are always closed on Mondays.

You can also combine this setting with standard bookable periods and custom pricing for specific days. This gives you full control over your rental schedule.
